• Worldwide, there have been over 581 million cases and over 6 million deaths attributed
to COVID-19.
• New Zealand: As the nation struggles to adapt to the COVID-19 outbreak, New Zealand
has opted to once again reopen its borders to travelers.1 Since Covid closed them in
March 2020, New Zealand has been progressively lowering its borders for its inhabitants;
Monday marked the first full day of this loosening.1 Last night, the process of reopening
the borders was completed, allowing tourists from non-visa waiver nations including
China and India as well as foreign students and visitors to New Zealand.1 International
