• Worldwide, over 697 million cases and over 6 million deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.

• Canada: Ottawa's COVID-19 numbers are rising at high or very high levels, with 22 new hospitalizations and a high amount of respiratory syncytial virus activity (CBC News, 2023).
