  • WHO has published interim guidance on oxygen sources and distribution strategies for COVID-19 treatment. The document describes how to quantify oxygen demand, identify oxygen sources that are available, and select appropriate surge sources to best respond to COVID-19 patients’ needs, especially in low-and-middle income countries (WHO Report 85
  • Singapore is preparing to house hundreds of foreign workers in accommodation vessels as alternatives to dormitories. Tens of thousands of migrant workers, many from South Asia, live in cramped dormitories across Singapore, which have become the biggest source of coronavirus infections lately in Singapore.
  • The Philippines will put up specimen collection booths as it ramps up COVID-19 testing efforts. An initial 132 specimen collection booths will be put up in different regions to complement the increasing number of COVID-19 testing centers.
  • Japan declares nationwide state of emergency on April 16. Japan’s Prime Minister that the emergency imposed in seven provinces earlier this month will now apply to all 47 provinces.
