  • World Health Organization’s (WHO) has published an updated interim guidance on Key planning recommendations for mass gatherings in the context of COVID-19, which reflects the evolution of the pandemic and the most recent WHO recommendations on COVID-19. The guidance provides advice to host governments, health authorities and event organizers on containing COVID-19 risks associated with a mass gathering, and on mitigating the likelihood of strain on health services.
  • A joint task force has been established by the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the Central European Initiative to strengthen regional coordination for the COVID-19 response and mitigate the impact of the pandemic. The task force will serve as a strategic platform for updating member states, exchanging information, and sharing experiences, best practices and training.
  • West Java Indonesia’s administration has extended large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in Bogor, Depok and Bekasi (Bodebek) until July 2. Polices will be adjusted to each district, village and sub-district based on the level of emergency. The policy will also be adjusted to Jakarta’s plan to gradually ease restrictions in several sectors in June.
  • Malaysia's movement control order (MCO) will enter a “recovery phase" beginning next Wednesday (June 10) until August 31. In addition, Malaysia government announced on June 7 that it would reopen nearly all economic activity and allow interstate travel starting June 10, lifting coronavirus restrictions imposed nearly three months ago. The government will ease restrictions on social, education and religious activities in phases with health guidelines in place, and businesses will be allowed to return to normal operating hours.
  • According to the Philippines’ Department of Education (DepEd), it will postpone face-to-face classes until a vaccine against COVID-19 becomes available. Online and modular learning are being prepared and updated for this year
