Time Period Covered October 04, 2024 - October 04, 2024
Malaria, a vector-borne disease caused by Plasmodium parasites, has been a persistent threat to global public health for centuries. While primarily transmitted by Anopheles mosquitoes, the disease has demonstrated significant variability in its epidemiology, resulting in sporadic outbreaks and persistent endemicity in various regions. Methods This report aims to provide a comprehensive overview of malaria, focusing on its parasitology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnostic challenges, and control strategies. It also explores the implications of malaria outbreaks, including the potential risks to human health and public health systems. By integrating current knowledge and highlighting key research gaps, this study seeks to inform ongoing efforts to mitigate the impact of malaria and enhance preparedness for future outbreaks.
