As of March 4, 2025, Uganda reported 3,833 Clade Ib mpox cases and 31 deaths (0.8% CFR), the second-highest in the region after the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), accounting for over 40% of Africa's cases in the past six weeks. Clade Ib mpox cases in travelers returning from Uganda have been confirmed in the United Kingdom, South Africa, and United Arab Emirates.
